Safc Toolbar safc blog

I will rant about our recent signings in a minute but what i want to tell you about first is the Safc toolbar i have been developing for a while and with immediate feedback from Jay via the SMB (bassa :)) there is now version 1.1.

What is the Safc Toolbar?

The answer is: see that thingy along the top of the page you are viewing, you know the bit that has a search box, back, forward, refresh etc. buttons within it? Well its one of them. But guess what the one i have developed is purely all aimed at Sunderland AFC, which means you get all the latest news from Safc.com, Ready to Go, this blog and others.

It also includes links to all of the Sunderland footy sites that are being recommended by its users like the obvious ones: A Love Supreme, Safc.com, The Stat Cat and the SMB so far but guess what else as a user you get to tell me directly what you would like to see included!!!

As if that would be the end of it! everyone who downloads the Safc Toolbar automatically has the ability to chat directly with everyone else who has downloaded the toolbar!!!

There is no end to the interactivity of this brand new and unique toolbar free to

toolbar powered by Conduit

download and install via a small file, all future updates to the Safc Toolbar automatically take effect so there is no need for re-installation. So if you want to give it a whirl, test drive or whatever you want to call it, click on the banner you see to the right and let me know what you think of it via the comments link below, ta.

Reet... Now on to recent shannanigans at the SoL.
We are on the verge of signing former Mag and current Cardiff City player Rocky Michael Chopra (24), there is a lot of disgruntlement via the messageboards that this was not the sit up and take notice of our intent in the Premiership signing that we had all hoped to see.

A quick answer to this would be omg what the hell are we doing signing this lad (for a reported £5m) when surely the money would have gone on a proven goalscorer within the top flight?

Well it seems that David Nugent has made his decision and chosen Portsmouth as his club to be and among the forty odd players we have been linked with during the closed season so far Chopra is the only notable name. When i have talked to others about Greg Halford the general response i have been getting has been "he`s got a good long throw on him hasn`t he?" FFS.

With respect to Michael, regardless of his sharing the same school within Gosforth with Gay Al, he will be given every opportunity to show his worth to us Sunderland fans every time he pulls on the shirt and i well believe that Keano will drop him like a very heavy bag of shite if he does not come up to scratch.

In the context of the money we are going to pay for him, £5m is hardly a huge amount when you consider the share of TV revenue alone that Sunderland will draw during this next stint in the Premiership.

There is still plenty of transfer time left so lets give Keano the opportunity to bring in who he can, he has already said that he would be happy to start with the squad we have got right now, although my opinion may differ, i think a few proven players within the top flight of any league would settle the nerves of the already thirty odd thousand season ticket holders, even after today when Keano was across at his old stamping ground reportedly making inquiries into Kieron Richardsons availability, yep Kieron would be a step in the right direction.

Great writing. Have you thought about writing for a site I am helping called Sportingo.com?

Failing that, feel free to add it to my own site fuelmyblog.com.

Good stuff
