You Were Absolutely Right to Include Heskey

Are you shocked that Emile Heskey has been included in the England final 23?

You shouldn`t be, after all he has been selected for his ability to provide more off the ball than he ultimately provides on it.

"10 - In 58 caps for England, Emile Heskey has provided 10 assists, 7 of them coming in 2004 or earlier and none in tournaments" source - @optajoe

Obviously this is blistering form in comparison to Darren Bent at international level.

Emile Heskey finished this season as the 103rd highest goalscorer in what is regarded at club level as the best in the world. The Premier League where Benty only managed a measly 25 goals, Yes a full 100 places behind Darren Bent, Emile banged in a lofty total of 3. 

Emile has also trotted on to the pitch and played 31 games (15 as a substitute) during the 2009/10 season. This is clearly an in form player and Fabio after all did say he would take the in form players.

Final words.

It is unbelievable to think that England after so many dissapointing tournaments and so many failing England managers that in this day and age, the one that matters, The England manager is succumbing to soothsayers or media hype. Get a backbone, stick by your words. Take the form players, take the best.

This is not an attack on Emile, he will give his all i am sure, but i am afraid to say it`s not going to be enough. Big mistake.

Ok enough. We don`t i am sure wish England any bad luck, but without the right personnel there in the first place you are going to be hard pushed to win over any kind of support. Fabio you are just another YES man.


Darren Bent now will be armed with extra fire in his belly, every ball that hits the back of the net in this upcoming 2010/11 season should well be accompanied by a whisper, just a whisper of "this is what you could have had England". Englands loss is Sunderland AFC`s gain.

Heskey takes out our captain Rio Ferdinand (Friday 4th June)


An unfortunate event as training sessions can sometimes be competitive and we can hardly entirely blame Emile for this. But it must be devastating and could well be Rios last World Cup. Steven Gerrard is expected to take up the armband.

Update: (Saturday 12th June) Our first game against the USA

To be fair, Emile put in a shift in this game winning a lot of headers and pinning with a great lay-off to Gerrard for the first goal. Beyond that turning a positive into a negative there was a simple chip in front of him that would have decided this one.

Update: (Sunday 20th June) Second game against ALGERIA 0-0.

The perfect opportunity to pitch in with a few goals for Rooney, Heskey and others, but true to the form HESKEY HAS SHOWN ALL SEASON LONG absolutely no end result. We were expected to easily beat the Algeria and Slovenia. But thanks to the crappy squad you picked Fabio, you are now reaping what you sowed.

All the media that put HESKEY in front of Darren Bent: how fucking stupid do you look now?

Of course you were right to pick Heskey and no doubt you will pick him for the last game as well. Fucking clueless.
